Perfectly oil tight casing in electro-welded steel, shaped and ribbed for maximum rigidity. After welding, the casing is subjected to weld stress relieving and then sandblasted and painted with EPOXY paint.
The casing also has inspection hatches and levelling screws.

Gears in 18NiCrMo5 case-hardened and tempered steel with ground spiral profile.

Top brand roller bearings (SKF-FAG) with double conical/cylindrical rollers installed in support boxes and calculated for a nominal theoretical LB10 life =>25,000 hours.

Forced-feed lubrication on reducer consisting of:

  • 2 motor pumps (on as stand by to the other) – flow rate 90 L /hour (Ultrapompe)
  • 1 double filter (Hydac)
  • 1 water/oil heat exchanger with automatic thermostatic valve (Flowex – Sesino)
  • 1 heater with thermostat
  • 1 pressure gauge (Tema)
  • 1 thermometer with electric contacts (Tema)
  • 1 flow indicator with electric contacts (Lubysistem)
  • 1 minimum pressure switch calibrated at 0.5 atm (Square D)

– Pipes and nozzles at the inlet and outlet of the gear set
– Relief valve placed inside the reducer
– Weight approx. 10,000 kg
